Aleta McKeage, M.S., specializes in ecological land stewardship and restoration integrated with outreach and community building. In addition to her ecological work, Aleta has managed habitat restoration projects for municipalities, land trusts, state and federal governments. She is an expert in invasive plant ecology and control and restoration of native plant communities in natural areas as well as human-influenced landscapes. Her research interests focus on the dynamics of degraded and restored plant communities in New England, the longitudinal dynamics of managed ecosystems and the human dimensions of ecological restoration. She currently provides a broad range of services including project management to many groups in the Mid Coast Maine region and beyond through her organization Green Ways Center for Environment and Community, based in Belfast, Maine.
